Take Over Testimonies
Take Over Testimonies

Our first Take Over was here & Pastor Rigo asked us to do a liquid fast for one week.  I decided I was definiteley going to need some supernatural strenth to do this so I sought God about that actual fast first.  This is something I treasure about having an open & honest relationship with God, because when you ask, He answers.  The Lord answered me instantly with the verse Joel 1. 14-15

14 Declare a holy fast;
call a sacred assembly.
Summon the elders
and all who live in the land
to the house of the LORD your God,
and cry out to the LORD.

15 Alas for that day!
For the day of the LORD is near;
it will come like destruction from the Almighty

I was not looking for a passage on fasting so when I randomly read this I just knew the Take Over was something very serious ordained by God.  He confirmed it again at Joel 2:15-19.  As I write, it is truly difficult to put into words what a “revelation” or “God speaking” feels like.  All I can compare it to is when you’ve forgotten something, then all of a sudden you remember “Ah-ha!” or when you lose your keys & then you remember where you put them.  That excitement, that confidence, that reality, that truth, THAT is what it feels like when God speaks a direct line or word or chapter to you.  It is powerful, real & undeniable.

Once I realized God was asking me to fast & draw even nearer, it became a whole other ballgame.  Seeking God more than usual was not easy for me with my active 2 year old, but when I made the time & drew near to God, God was speaking so clearly.  It was amazing! So was it really food that was hindering this constant, clear communication? No! Of course not! God showed me, it’s not about what we sacrifice for him, but it’s about the time & commitment & persistence to meet with Him.  Outside of 5am prayer, I had a wonderful time reading God’s word, praying & worshipping on my own & I know THAT is what it’s about!

Throughout the fast here are some amazing things God did in my life…(I didn’t included everything, but here are a few)

First, Sofi let me brush her teeth. This is HUGE as my daughter has sensory issues & would never let me do that!

Next, Dr. Kopp, her Endocrinologist called & said her labs from earlier that week were “perfect.” Her thyroid is healed!

Also, Sofi started drinking out of a cup by herself!  I know this seems trivial, but if you know my daughter’s history with feeding/drinking these are little break throughs! THANK YOU LORD! He taught me that He is my reigning Healer, my Great Physician, my personal Doctor & will always be!  But He didn’t stop there!

Around the end of the week, I got a call that a property I own, but left in foreclosure due to my circumstances, all of a sudden had an “eager buyer.” What?! My condo was sold after 2 years & my credit is not ruined! I didn’t even pray for that recently & God handled it! Amazing!

He taught me that even when we forget out prayers or just leave them at His feet, He never forgets & He’s handling our business & He is for us! WOW!

My last battle was at the Social Security office.  They said we owed them $800. from years ago.  Right when I got there a sister in Christ texted me a scripture & reminded me God is my Defender.  I was calmed by the verse & told my husband I wouldn’t say & word & God would hadle our case.  Within minutes the error was found & the overpayment was credited to us!  He is our Provider & Defender in time of need!

In closing, I just couldn’t believe how God just kept doing things & it just left me expecting everyday! Aside from the blessings & seeing so many beautiful facets of God…healing, providing, defending, my favorite part of the fast was edifying & being edified by my brothers & sisters & most importantly, my intimate time with God’s word <3 I hope our next Take Over is even more powerful & more of God’s glory, power, works, reflections are seen.  If you did not take it seriously this time, I hope next time you do.  And if your prayers seem unanswered just remember these verses…

“Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9

“Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.” Psalm 37:7

“But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.” Romans 8:25
